ANNUAL REPORT

HEAL Social Service Club- An Overview
         In 2010, a group of Philanthropists in   MES Central School, Tirur realized that the social, emotional and mental deterioration of the social beings as well as society is going down and it is time to respond against this vulnerability. This thought gave birth to a Social Service Club named   HEAL (Humanity, Empathy, Advocacy and Love) to abolish the social awkwardness. The Department of Counseling and Special Education of MES Central School, Tirur took initiative to form the club. HEAL Social Service Club provides Life Skill Training for the Office Bearers, Cultural Wing, Executive Members and the Members of HEAL Social Service Club selected from Primary and Secondary grade/level. More over the club aims to help the students to do survey on various topics related to Humanity, Empathy, Advocacy and Love, by organizing Community Awareness Programs, organizational and Industrial visits to understand different life patterns, difficulties and limitations faced in one’s life, organize awareness programs for students on academic and non academic topics and  conduct  tribal camps to understand the cultural difference and social hazards which are faced by the tribes.
   Club HEAL aspires the overall development of student community and to conduct in and outreach programs relevant to cultural and social hazards like oppression , intellectually, emotionally and physically challenged and illiterate and unmarried mothers. It focuses to find an adequate solution for the betterment of the victims. In this mission we request all Students and Management to extend their kind co-operation, blessings and timely advice to fulfill our Goals and Objectives.

PROGRAME REPORT
INTRODUTION
            HEAL Social Service Club aims to provide LIFE SKILLS TRAINING to the Office Bearers, Cultural Wing, Executive Members and Members in Primary and Secondary. Furthermore it aims over to help the students to do survey on various topics related to Humanity, Empathy, Advocacy and Love. It also trains help to organize Community Awareness Programs, arrange organizational and Industrial visits to understand the different life pattern, life difficulties and limitations, organize awareness programs for students on academic and non academic topics and to conduct a tribal camp to understand the cultural difference and social hazards which are faced by the tribes.
AIMS  AND OBJECTIVES
1. To inaugurate the activities of HEAL Social Service Club 2011-12
2. To show the Documentary Prathibimbamillatha Kannadikal., This was about the total   
     works of the activities of HEAL Social Service Club 2010-11
3. To develop the leadership quality of the students.
4. To distribute the certificate to the members of first batch of the Club 2010-11
5. To create an overall positive.
TARGET GROUP
Leaders from grade IV to VIII and Grade XI.
PLANNING

1.      The club members had planned to inaugurate the second batch of HEAL Social Service Club of MES Central School Tirur on 29/09/11 Thursday.
2.      It was decided to select Audio Visual Hall of MES Central School as physical setting
3.      Decided to decorate the hall with posters and collage.
4.      The members would be get trained by teachers to present various cultural programs. 
5.      The members finalized the guest as Jb. A Modeenkutty , Chairman of MES Central School Tirur
6.      The members scheduled  the program.
7.      The members gave invitation to the chief guest and other officials in the school

DESCRIPTION
The second batch of HEAL Social Service Club of MES Central School Tirur was inaugurated by school chairman Jb. A Moideenkutty on 29/09/11 Thursday. During the inaugural address Chairman appreciated the Department of Counseling and Special Education for their initiative to motivate the students towards the eradication of the vulnerability. K. Muhammed Shafi, Secretary of MES Central School Tirur delivered the keynote address. Principal Dr. K. Sadayakumar, Vice Principal Mr. D John and Secondary HM, Mr. Madhusoodanan addresased the gathering. their special address.  Mahesh Palloor, Head of the Department of Counseling and Special Education facilitated the program. Safwana Sherin, student program coordinator of HEAL Social Service Club had introduced the year plan of the club to the gathering. Reshma, president of HEAL Social Service Club welcomed the gathering. Athira Unnikrishnan Vice President of HEAL Social Service Club delivered the presidential address. Janesha, former general secretary of HEAL Social Service Club presented the annual report. First batch Students of HEAL Social Service Club received the certificates. A documentary (Prathibimbamillatha Kannadikal) was presented by Department of Counseling and Special Education based on the activities of first batch of HEAL Social Service Club. The documentary was about the Tribal Life at Wayanad. The members of HEAL Social Service Club presented various cultural programs. Aysha Sala, treasurer of HEAL Social Service Club delivered the vote of thanks. HOD’s and teachers from various departments and leaders from grade IV to VIII took part in the program. The program culminated at 2.00p with national anthem.

2. To understand the Psychological, Social and Economical problems of the aged
3. To study about the functions of the old age home
4. To know the life style of the aged
5. To empathize with the old aged people.

DESCRIPTION
The HEAL Social Service Club of MES Central School Tirur visited Tavanur Old Age Home on 20/10/11 Thursday. The team consisted 14 students and 2 staff. The team started the journey from the school at 09.10 am and reached the Old Age Home at 10.15 am. The club members interacted with the inmates of the home and
Conducted music and quiz competition among the inmates.  More than 6 inmates participated in the music competition and out of them four inmates won prizes. In quiz competition four inmates won. The students also presented various cultural programs.  Which came to an end at 03.pm.

DESCRIPTION
HEAL Social Service Club of MES Central School Tirur conducted an awareness program on Consequences of Tobacco Use’ on 19/11/11 Saturday. Mr. Suresh Babu Senior Secondary H M delivered a special address and Secondary HM, Mr. Madhusoodanan  felicitate the program.  were Mahesh Palloor, Head of the Department of Counseling and Special Education too facilitated the program. Midhun of VIII C welcomed the gathering. Famida Banu of VIII D delivered the presidential address. Mohamed Sinan, Executive Leader of HEAL Social Service Club delivered the vote of thanks. HOD’s and teachers from various departments and the office bearers of various clubs from grade VI to VIII took part the program. The program came to an end at 2.00p with national anthem.

PROGRAME REPORT
INTRODUTION
Preliminary Examination
            Behalf of World Human Rights Day HEAL Social Service Club decided to conduct a Quiz Completion for all Clubs in school on 30/01/12. Only 6 clubs would be selected to the final quiz competition. Out of 13 clubs which is registered foe the completion.  That’s why the organizers decided to conduct a written examination on 12th December 2011 at 01.30 pm in A V Hall.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE
1.      To  develop the General Knowledge of the students

DISCRIPTION
As a part of Quiz Competition HEAL Social Service had conducted a Preliminary Examination on 12th December 2011 at 01.30 pm  in A V Hall. 13 clubs were participated to the Preliminary Examination. The clubs are Moral, Dance, Arts & Craft, Literary, Math, Music, Science, Oratory, Farmers, Scouts & Guides, Sanchaika, Health and School Band. The exam based on the title of clubs. It came to end at 033.00 pm.

INTRODUTION
            The Secondary Section of MES Central School, Tirur organized a two days Exhibition based on CCE Curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education. The exhibition has two part such as Academic and Cultural. The entire Department participated to the Exhibition. HEAL Social Service Club represented Department of Counseling and Special Education in both academic and cultural part.
AIM AND OBJECTIVE
1.      To  facilitate the cultural wing of HEAL club to participate in cultural program
2.      To make possible the office bearers of HEAL club to participate in academic part.
3.      To develop the skills of the members
4.      To equip office bearers of HEAL club to explain the various activities of Department of Counseling & Special Education.

DESCRIPTION
 The CCE Exhibition inaugurated by at 09.30 am in the School Auditorium.  K. Muhammed Shafi, Secretary of MES Central School Tirur has delivered the keynote address. Principal Dr. K. Sadayakumar, Vice Principal Mr. D John Senior Secondary HM Mr. Sureshbabu and Secondary HM,  Mr. Madhusoodanan was delivered the special address.  After the inauguration students from different department presented cultural programs.   In the afternoon the classes were opened for parents and student to see the exhibited things which did by the students.
Academic Part of the Exhibition
Behalf of Academic Part of the Exhibition the Department of Counseling and Special Education displayed various problems of children which occur during the childhood, such as Mental Retardation , ADHD, ADD, Autism, Learning Disability, Writing disability (dysgraphia), Math disability (dyscalculia), Reading disability (dyslexia), Conduct Disorder, Behavioral Problem, Teen stress, Battered child, Phobia, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment.   The Crisis Intervention Cell of Department of Counseling and Special Education conducted a survey on   Identification of Learning Disability on both days. More than 60 respondents   were in the survey. The office bearers of HEAL Social Service Club made charts and power point presentation to explain the history, definition, etiology, epidemiology, types, characteristics, diagnosis, management, hospitals- treatment institution- rehabilitation centers and famous persons with the relevant problems of each problems to the parents, students and general public.
